Rani Middleton

Rani Middleton was a dedicated English and drama teacher. She arrived in the Kimberley as a baby. By the time her family left eight years later to go back ‘over East’, the love affair was entrenched — in more ways than one. Rani had already met her future husband, Nathan.

Trace a line through Rani’s family tree and you’ll discover generations of poets, thespians, librarians and journalists. Rani grew up with a love of books and shared her passion with her son, Mateo.

Rani was a valued committee member of Backroom Press from 2015 to 2017, and she coordinated the Corrugated Lines Festival of Words in 2016.
